Manufacturing Process

Design Phase

Boats are designed using computer-assisted design software (Autodesk Inventor), producing accurately scaled three-dimensional models. Consulting naval architects verify water-worthiness using specialized software conducting stability calculations and performance tests. Upon satisfactory verification, 3D models convert into comprehensive 2D AutoCAD part and fabrication drawings.

Cutting & Welding

AutoCAD drawings program our onsite CNC cutting machine, which precisely cuts HDPE parts from various sheet thicknesses. For pontoon-based craft, specialized HDPE pontoon pipes are integrated during fabrication. Custom jigs hold components during extrusion welding, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout assembly.

Welding Techniques

We employ tack welding and extrusion welding techniques. Tack welding temporarily holds parts before permanent extrusion welding. All welds use the roughened V-mitre preparation technique, creating exceptionally strong bonds between HDPE components.

Quality Control

Stringent quality control procedures include multiple inspection checkpoints throughout fabrication. Personnel follow documented procedures signed off by supervisors at each milestone: part dimensions, weld preparations, lifting point load tests, and sealed compartment pressure tests must all pass before proceeding.

Maintenance Support

HDPE construction allows easy onsite repairs with proper welding equipment. We offer welding equipment sales and personnel training for client self-sufficiency. For clients without equipment, our technicians travel to sites (including offshore) with necessary tools. However, HDPE hulls require minimal maintenance—many vessels operate successfully for 15+ years with little intervention.
